Job Description: Responsible for work flow for registration and benefit verification for outpatient rehab in Glen Rose

Part-time Release of Information Clerk

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Summary of Responsibilities:

This is a part-time 20 hours a week position.  A high level of professionalism, customer courtesy; and, ability to communicate and work with other staff and doctor’s offices is required.  Attention to detail and ability to “think outside the box” is a must.  This position also requires adherence to HIPAA laws and reports directly to the Health Information Management Director.

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Receiving, organizing and maintaining medical record requests.
  • Working closely with the hospital billing department.
  • Accessing software programs to manage, submit and obtain requested medical records.
  • Contacting doctor’s offices for medical records.
  • Faxing and/or mailing records to requestors.
  • Scanning/uploading requests into the electronic health record system.
  1. Physical Requirements:
  • Work on-site at the hospital, weekdays
  • Ability to Communicate and interact with customers and hospital/clinic staff.

Certified Surgical Technologist 

Part to Full Time

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during, and after surgery.  The CST acting as a scrub person handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Must have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a sterile field. Good general health with ability to work in a high stress environment.  Must have full mobility with the ability to stand in one place for long periods of time.  The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Must be a graduate from a surgical technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or another avenue of entry otherwise acceptable to the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist.
  • Initial certification is bases upon satisfactory performance on the national certifying examination.
  • CST’s maintain their certification by accruing appropriate contact hours of approved continuing education, as required by their governing body.
  • Must be currently certified in basic CPR & re-certified every two years.

Surgery Housekeeping- Full Time

The housekeeper is responsible for providing housekeeping support for designated areas in the hospital, essential in maintaining sanitation standards. Environmental service workers primarily handle room readiness in patient areas and general cleanliness procedures in staff and public areas. Provides no direct patient care. All job functions are carried out according to Glen Rose Medical Center’s Policies and Procedures and Mission Vision Statement. The housekeeper reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

General good health and stress coping ability. Sits and walks intermittently throughout the work day. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity when performing work. Handles and manipulates equipment and office materials. Able to make emergency decisions working under stress. Ability to speak and hear allow discussions with patients and peers .

Education:

  • Previous hospital housekeeping experience a plus.

Medical Assistant/Physician Clinic

The Office Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician in the care of patients. In collaboration with Administration plans, supervises all technical and business operations of the office to include ordering supplies, facilitating written communication with patients and physicians, calls to pharmacies, schedule patients, etc.. Maintains Office in accordance with the standards established by the Hospital, Federal, State, Joint Commission and local standards. Maintains appropriate paperwork for Official records. Position provides direct care to patients of all ages. All functions of the Office are carried out according to the Glen Rose Medical Center’s Mission Statement and policies. The Office Assistant reports directly to the Physician regarding clinical services and to the Chief Operating Officer regarding business functions.

Physical Requirements:

Good general health and stress coping ability. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity. Ability to speak and hear to allow discussions with patients and peers as well as make accurate physical assessments. Possesses visual acuity for accurate reading of equipment and recording on patient charts. Must be physically able to assist patients of all sizes according to proper procedure.

Educational/Licensure/Training:

Minimum one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a similar office setting is preferred. Medical Assistant Training through an educational program may be substituted. LVN with experience preferred. CPR certification required. Must be knowledgeable of equipment used in pertinent clinical areas

PRN/RN/ Med Surg (Nights)

Registered Nurse for Med Surg Department: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the inpatient setting and accurately makes assessments. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments. Must maintain overall good general health and must be physically able to lift, support and move patients. The Nurse Aide, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, delivers care to Clients of all age groups.   The Nurse Aide assists in providing quality patient care by performing basic nursing tasks. All functions are carried out according to the Glen Rose Medical Center Mission Statement and Policies. The Nurse Aide reports to the Charge Nurse who reports directly to the C.N.O of the Hospital.  We need help transporting patients to and from the SeniorCare Program for their mental health treatment. Drivers must be able to lift heavy items like wheelchairs and help patients in and out of the van and into the building. We are looking for individuals with excellent driving records and excellent customer service skills. This is often a split shift and perfect for a retired individual who wants just a few hours here or there.

PRN Medical Assistant for the Behavioral Health Program at Glen Rose Medical Center

 We have openings for PRN Medical Assistants for the SeniorCare mental health program. We need individuals who can fill in when our census increases or to cover staff time off. This may include anything from a split shift driving patients to and from the program in the program van, to a longer work day assisting with registration, helping with nursing duties and assisting patients. We require an excellent driving record and customer service skills. This position is perfect for someone who is retired who wants just a few hours here or there.

PRN Licensed Therapist for the Behavioral Health Program at Glen Rose Medical Center

 We have openings for PRN Therapists to help cover staff vacations or increased patient census in the SeniorCare Intensive Outpatient Program. Therapists facilitate group therapy sessions and interact therapeutically with patients with severe mental health issues. This position is perfect for someone who is retired or semi-retired, only needing a few hours here or there. Requirements include LMSW, LCSW or LPC with 3 years related experience. Must be able to assist senior patients transfer in and out of chairs and help with wheelchairs etc. We require our clinical staff to have excellent clinical and customer service skills.

PRN Radiology/CT Tech

The Radiology/CT Technologist is responsible for producing diagnostic radiographs and computed tomography procedures according to accepted standards utilizing appropriate protocols. The technologist also assists the Radiologist with fluoroscopy and operates the C-arm for surgical exams when necessary. The technologist is responsible for educating patients regarding procedures and obtaining consents when required.

Current CPR/BLS certification
1 year of prior CT experience preferred
